You actually intelligent.

Probably one of the better couple comments I have received. I agree with most of what you said.

But, I am upset with their lack of effort, not the lack of wins. And if you snake through my response and post its in there somewhere. Think also you nailed the thoughts on the offense vs. the D.

In my post I said: “The Spartans aren’t showing passion. Winning and losing comes next, its the effort, character, spirit I am talking about.” And “Winning or not, I will and have supported them if they show team work, passion, and leadership I expect a Spartan athlete to have. “

Maybe catch you at a local pub for a brew to discuss some time.. Lest see what comes though on the tube tonight as they take on Penn State.

And one more thing, many times people complain about heart when the talent level is just not there.

We desperately miss Raymar Morgan from last year. We do not have anyone that can score consistently in the paint. While Loscious was struggling scoring the ball, he as a great assist man (much better than Kalin), and losing him hurts a lot. Chris Allen was our best three point shooter. So this team has no real threat to score in the post, and no great three point shooters. Opponents will/have packed it in against us and forced us to shoot threes, which we have missed at an alarming rate.

While this does not explain the defenses suckiness it does explain a lot of our offensive struggles.

You make some very good points.

Consider this though, many of these players who you are criticizing gave you two straight final fours, a big ten championship. They have a rough patch of ten games and you are "done with them"? To me this comes off as a little spoiled.

Every team in the country struggles at some point. It has been great that up until recently we have not experienced these struggles but we all knew that eventually it would come.

Your criticism of the team is valid, but if they had not gone to two straight final fours the season would not be considered such an epic failure. This season would be judged totally differently if they had not succeeded in the past.

It was not long ago that a certain fanbase's football team would get their panties in a bunch about going 9-3. At the time we would have taken that in a heartbeat. To me, quitting on a team after one bad season (its not over!) seems very similar.

Remember this team brought YOU two straight final fours, I think that being "done with them" is very shortsighted and harsh considering what they have given you as fans.

I agree with SpartyMSU. These students basically get free MSU Degrees for playing basketball and they need to hold up their end of the deal and play with passion etc.. Fair weather fan? Hardly. When someone screws up they need to be called out on it. I wish I could use the good ol' Jumping on the Bandwagon excuse on the job, then if I didn't feel like working hard, I could yell at my boss and tell him that he's just "jumping on the bandwagon" and a "fair weather boss".
