I'm a Frustrated Spartan Fan...

MSU Spartan Mens Basketball Team.. WTF.  I don’t know what to say.
So much talent, so much wasted.

Observations and opinions from watching it at B-Dubs in E. Lansing on Super Bowl Sunday…
1) Lady Luck and Leadership has take the year off in E.L.
2) Team doesn’t deserve to use the Breslin Locker room – send them to Dress in Dem. Hall.
4) Playing “catch-up” ball is no way to win a game.
3) Wish Raymar was back, he had HEART. So did Idong and the 2009 version of Lucas,…. selfless players.
4) No passion or focus comes through on the TV while watching.
5) Coach Izzo: Whoever is the cancer, and it seems its somebody, Tom, please cut them out ASAP.
6) If issues are: DUI, Drugs (smoking dope, etc.), failing classes, bad attitude, kick them off the team today. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200…. Go straight to Jail.
7) Something aint right.. and it seems to be player generated….
8) Got to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water, but something needs to happen...
9) They have the talent, skill and potential to right the ship.. but will they??  can they ??

I’m done watching them.. I get too frustrated at the boy’s lack luster play and disappearance of fundamentals.  I feel sorry for Coach Tom Izzo..  It appears he has lead the horse to water, but its throwing stones at the glass house… or something like that. You get the drift.

Some players are trying, and doing what they can, others that should be doing better - can do better, but aren’t.   History will not be kind to 2010 / 2011 team.

For now, done with the Mens’ self destructing team..   So, now will start to think about the Icers , Women’s BBall and Football, and forget the Men’s BBALL.

So, SpartyMSU is headed to watch the Lady Spartans.. We will spend our $$$ with the Woman’s team.

Ladies play Penn State this Thursday in University Park.. I think its on the Big Ten Network. (Direct TV has it for Free).

Next week two home games, Michigan and against Northwestern.  The SpartyMSU crew is headed  to see them play Northwester next week. Good chance we’ll see a Spartan Basketball team play with heart and win…  We’ll be spending the night in E.L…

Before the game, Drinks at Road House, The Peanut Barrel, Dagwood’s or all of the above… The after game drinks at same..  Staying at the Kellogg Center.. Don’t want to Drink and weave my way home…

MSU has plenty of teams, and events to keep us entertained.

Less than 7 (SEVEN and counting) Months to Football Season..

Sparty ON !!

i understand the frustration but this is the definition of bandwagon. We need to support the team when they are down. If/When we right the ship it would be hypocritical for you to be back supporting the team, as the truest fans are those who will be with the team through the worst.

And one more thing, many times people complain about heart when the talent level is just not there.

We desperately miss Raymar Morgan from last year. We do not have anyone that can score consistently in the paint. While Loscious was struggling scoring the ball, he as a great assist man (much better than Kalin), and losing him hurts a lot. Chris Allen was our best three point shooter. So this team has no real threat to score in the post, and no great three point shooters. Opponents will/have packed it in against us and forced us to shoot threes, which we have missed at an alarming rate.

While this does not explain the defenses suckiness it does explain a lot of our offensive struggles.

      Mo,

      You actually intelligent.

Probably one of the better couple  comments I have received. I agree with most of what you said.

But, I am upset with their lack of effort, not the lack of wins. And if you snake through my response and post its in there somewhere.   Think also you nailed the thoughts on the offense vs. the D.

In my post I said:  “The Spartans aren’t showing passion. Winning and losing comes next, its the effort, character, spirit I am talking about.”  And  “Winning or not, I will and have supported them if they show team work, passion, and leadership I expect a Spartan athlete to have. “

Maybe catch you at a local pub for a brew to discuss some time..   Lest see what comes though on the tube tonight as they take on Penn State.

      Sparty On my friend.
