2008 Game 2: MSU vs EMU

 VS.

One thing that is 100% Positive, you can bet the house on, Roll the Dice, it’s a Fur-Sure thing.. a Team Dressed in Green and White will Win Saturday… And with 100% confidence, it will be the Spartans… Frankly as a Brew Crew, we’re more worried when Bells’s stops brewing Oberon for the year….

EMU is coming off an impressive Victory last week against Indiana State..   A 52 to Zip shellacking of the Sycamores.

Any win like that can give a team confidence and a real boost headed into the next series..

But just some quick numbers to put that game and the contest against MSU in perspective.

Don’t get me wrong.. EMU is the best team on the Huron River…. Best in that part of the State… Best West of Detroit and South of East Lansing.  I Like EMU.. My Sister graduated from there….

SpartyMSU just doesn’t think they have a chance this Saturday…  We will have to see what the opinion is at http://www.EMUTalk.org   .. but, I am sure its similar….

Speaking about EMU Information… There  isn’t allot of it on the Web about Football or Sports in General.. I found only: http://www.easternecho.com/  , http://www.emyouthemagazine.com/ ,  But Noooooo Body is talking about the upcoming Spartan Game..  Guess they don’t care.. or don’t intend to win.. or something…

Last Saturday:   Sure EMU put up some great numbers, spread the ball with receivers and backs..  637 Yards total offense, 413 rushing… 5 players over 38 yrds, T. Blevins had 180 alone.. (Wow!)

In the Air: 5 players with over 37 yards… for a total passing of 224 yrds. (Impressive)

They had 3 ints, sacked Indiana State 4 times..  One thing that sort of surprised me, LB Holtzclaw (Who is on the Lombardi watch list) wasn’t the number 1 tackler.. He had only 2 solo tackles in this blowout.. No Sacks, no Breakups, Hmmmmm.. Whats he savin up for ?

Playing the Spartans, in Spartan Stadium is a bit different than a Home Game against a no-Name…

Vegas has the Spartans over EMU by 21 or 23 points (Depends on where you look)… But, that might be low….

Quick Spartan Stats from last week:
Hoyer: Passed for 321 yrds, Ran for 9.
Ringer: Rushed for 88, caught for 17.
Mark (the Stud) Dell: caught for 202 yrds
Cunningham: caught for 63 yrds
Greg Jones: 8 Tackles

Update on the Spartans:
Kendell Davis-Clark is still on the depth chart, even after the shoulder injury against Cal.
John Misch is out due to a foot injury.

Other than that.. This game will be a tune up, against a pumped up (But soon to be deflated) Eagles Team…

Should be another big scoring day for the Spartans.

Spartans 49 – EMU 10

Sparty On !!!!
