Like I said Previously.. Michigan Football is a Soup Sandwich… Its  as screwed up as it has ever been…

They sure as Hell don’t deserve the Preseason Ranking they got, as high as 24… .. They are the Highest over rated team in the NCAA sine 1989 (http://preseason.stassen.com/over-under/teams.html ), and here they are again… WTF..

The only Bright Spot for their team (and they are lucky to have one).. is the Defense..  But its more fun to look at their Offenses first…

With a new Coach and Coaching staff, new play scheme, only 3 “O” Starters retuning,  Plus having some players jump ship .. They are Thin on that side of the ball…

 With no returning starters up front on the “O” line.. and knowing that the success of the offense is often defined by the protection given  from the “O” line,Wolverines look to be in trouble..  Weak Line... Means the Back tandem of Brandon Minor and Carlos Brown will be ineffective.. No holes pulled open to run through..  And with no Prime Time Hogs up front, will the QB have time to option.. to throw ?.. Sparty says.. NO …..

With  their 2 best receivers jumping ship after Rich Rod became the new Michigan Man, scUM is  left with catchers with decent potential, but who are not of the caliber of Mario Manningham or Adrian Arrington. They are left with players that can catch, and some so – so experience: Greg Matthews, Butler, Massey, have to see if they can step up. See how they catch with their QB Threet scampering his Feet under pressure, won’t that be a neat…

The Top Returning QB is David Cone he’s 1 -1, 21 yrds, 0 TDs… But, he won’t start.. They will go to a Tender Freshman Steven Threet (6 ‘6” – 230).. So.. With no starting experience up front, a new spread option system, Freshman QB.. Sounds a lot like the offense of Notre Dame of 2007 all over again. Ahhhh, but one can only hope….

The Good news to this story : This will allow The Improved and Experienced Spartan “D” to have a field day with these guys..  Fresh meat….  Yummm…..  Threet is a Defensive Treat….   Won’t be too many points put on the board this year for the Wolver-weenies....  Go Ahead Ann Arbor, pump your chest.. Boast as usual..  Tell us all about your new Talent and your High Hopes..  then we will watch all the hype get flushed down the drain into the murky Huron… 

Now, for a looking at Defense..  7 Returning Starters, This is the one shinning area that  the Wolverines have.. All  4 “D” linemen return.. I like the play of Wil Johnson (6’5” – 285), a local boy from Lake Orion.. Good Man, and Lake Orion Dragon.. . a decent athlete.. The Line will be a concern for the Spartans.. Even though Shawn Crable is gone, they have back filled with experience like Obi wan Kanobi Ezeh (6’2” – 247).. This will be a decent Big Ten Defense..

Their Corners are experienced, senior Morgan Trent (6-1, 188), Donovan Warren (So. 6-0, 180)… Between them 5 interceptions, 25 or more pass breakups and 4 fumble recoveries…  Safeties are Stevie Brown (Jr. 6-0, 209), other safety spot, Brandon Harrison (Sr. 5-9, 206).

 Like MSU, their “D” is a bright spot..

The “D” will be rough on the Spartans.. Having already played 8 Games.. I hope we are healthy.. this is clearly the second most important Rivalry in the Big Ten, even though it has been 1 sided lately.. 

I have predicted a Spartan Win, the Spartans have a Legit chance to Win….  the Spartans have their best shot in years.. No doubt a close emotional game..
