scUM wins again.... Damn...
Publishing a Blog after the scum game wouldn't have been appropriate… Not right for a couple reasons… 1) I had to get sober… 2) had to go to church to deeply reflect on what I saw in the Stadium and heard from scUM Alum/Fans and Mike (the Dick) Hart after the game… 3) Had to think about how we blew a 10 point lead with less than 6 minutes to go in the game....
Important Statistic: 7 Cases of Beer, Bottle of Crown and Jack, 2 Dozen Cigars, Chef Andy’s Superb French Toast, Dennis’s Steak Sandwiches, Burgers and Brats and a nice bottle of Grapa that Frank brought… We had a Good Time.. No matter what the out come of the Game… We have great friends and we do a Superior TailGate organized and lead by Chef Andy. We got up there 4pm Friday to prepare our bodies and spirits for the Game.. Good Time !
Now to the Game....WTF..…WTF….. Mike Hart buries deeper in Con-Frickin-crete the arrogance, ignorance, unsportsmanship and over all Jerkyness that The University of Michigan is best know for... “Playing MSU is like playing your Little Brother”.. MY Ass you JERK !! Plus…. scUM Students / Fans in the Stands screaming “Spartan Pussys” … “Spartans Suck and always will..” I heard that in their stadium.. Now it was 2 rows behind me…over and over again… they come to our house and are rude…"Pastor.. Should I have punched him in the face ???”

But MSU must do something about the mean spirited fans that ruin the game for others… I might not turn the other cheek in 2009.
The Guys played their hardest.... Just wasn't enough ... the Spartans Are a Unified and Good Team...

The Game… Wow.. Plays that made the difference: in the First half Dropped passes in the first half.Several balls were in the grasp of the Spartan receivers and they couldn't’t pull them in and hold on..... Little Rushing performance and little yardage.. Then the second half Fumble in the scUM backfield that Hart picked up and ran for a first down…. These are what made the difference.
The Defense played its best game of the year, except the touch down pass to put scUM ahead with <2 minutes to go…with that exception, “D” came out as Studs ! In the Second Half, the Offensive line turned up the heat, made Fantastic assignments, and let Ringer and Caulcrink Turn up the Heat.. The “O” Line was Awesome…They Proved that they can be better than anyone on the field. But where were they in the First half ??? We had one Heck of a Putning game... Sticking it in side their 20 several times.. !!
I thought they played as good as they have all year… Just didn’t get a couple critical bounces. Or is it that NCAA has a fix in for Muckin Fichigan like Big Time Wrestling ? I wonder sometimes…. ??? Does the NCAA and Refs predetermine what team should get beneficial calls ??? Hmmm…. Kind of the grassy knoll conspiracy type of thing... ???
While in Church, I spent a long time thinking about the game…. I know..... Should have been praying and listening to the sermon.... But, this is important too.... I am convinced that Dantonio has made a difference in the team.... This will take longer than I had hoped.... The Team has been competitive in each of its games till the end… I see them playing 4 quarters.... So, I have seen changes..
The Fans yelled our butts off.. It was a so noisy Henne had to call time out because he couldn’t hear…. The fans did their job…. I’ll be at the Penn State game… I hope others see the changes I believe are there and show up in the stands....
Changes have been made… I am sure more to come…. Dantonio will turn the Program around… I Believe…. It will take more time than 1 year… That is clear to me now….

Wow, this is priceless. You have the balls to call out Michigan and their sportsmanship while you go have no problem referring to Michigan as scUM (Muck Fichigan, Muckin Fichigan, etc.)?
Face the facts, every team has its idiot fan base, State included. Every time you use scUM, you perpetuate the incivility among the teams and become the problem rather than the solution.
I don't agree with what Hart said. He shouldn't have said it. Fine. But then Dantonio comes out and starts verbally attacking Mike Hart in response to his comments? I mean seriously, where does the administration continue to find these dumb and obtuse 'leaders' of the Spartan community. Is that really what a head coach of a major university is supposed to be doing? Arguing with a college student through the press? Who really comes off as petty in this situation?
It's called taking the moral high ground. Dantonio had the chance, but chose to forego it.
Now for the game. What annoys me about this rant/blog is the pervasive theme of, "if we did this, then it could have..." Face it, MSU lost to a better team. And, I don't say that in a mean way. Henne and Hart were less than 100%. Michigan played in a very hostile crowd. The defense faced a rushing attack in the second half that they haven't seen in a while. Michigan missed several tackles and had some bad play calling on offense and defense.
But they still got it done. They dug down deep and finished the job. They weren't beneficiaries of favorable calls by the refs or part of a pro-Wolverine /anti-Spartan conspiracy, like you sadly seem to suggest. If Henne was 100%, if Hart played the whole game, if we lined up four receivers every time, if we, etc... Get it?
A superior team is able to win most of these types of games. They have the fortitude, they have the experience, and they have the manpower to win the close games. Other times, you'll see Navy beating Notre Dame at home. I'm not saying that UM will always be superior to MSU year after year, but this year, yes, UM is better.
I'm looking forward to next year's game. But it might serve the Spartans better, if they took that countdown clock down and the newspaper articles in the locker room down, b/c it shows that the team is focused on something other than itself.

Yeah.. Well... After growing up in the Land of the Blue.. I turned into the light and went to MSU... So Pass the Beer, and you can hear the laments of a Spartan who has no fear... through years gone by.. Sparty Struggles to win... each year.. we turn and sigh..... But with the New Coach.. Looks and approach... I see a new hue thats not Blue.. Its Green and White.. with a Ton of Might... Coming to visit and Win with Delight.. It may not be this year.. I said with a tear... but as the Program grows... All Spartans knows ... that Dantonio will make our Spartys Heroes....
